Do you ever have those online purchases that happen so fast you aren’t actually sure they really happened? This tee was one of those purchases. I was scrolling through Pinterest one Sunday afternoon, as I do, when a pink and aqua picture caught my eye. When I clicked through to the business’ site, I found a darling brand called Daisy Natives. With so much delight I found that the tee comes in both straight and plus sizes, and so without skipping a beat the top made its way into my shopping cart. Before I knew it, I was notified that my purchase was being processed. From start to finish the whole process was probably about 90 seconds. And let me tell you, I don’t regret it.
I love my pink ‘Girls Support Girls’ Tee. I have been trying to grow my graphic tee collection, I love the message, and being able to support women in business while buying it was the icing on the cake. And you can’t beat the friendly reminder that us gals need to stick together and have each other’s backs.
One thing in the blogging world (and countless other industries) is that we are constantly comparing ourselves to others. I know I have been guilty of this more times than I care to admit. Why don’t I have that many followers? Why does she get to work with that brand and I don’t? Why was she invited to that event, and not me? And the list goes on and on.
There are 3 things that I remind myself when I start to feel the green monster creep in:
- There is Room for Everyone
The point of blogging is that there are countless unique and fresh voices and content. If everyone was doing the same things it would not feel natural, it would lose any originality, and it wouldn’t be exciting! There is a place for everyone. There is no linear path to success in bloggerdom, so it cannot be compared. You just have to keep doing your best.
- Power in Numbers
The moment that my blog took off was when I met a community of blogger women. I have found success by being collaborative and supporting other women. I know that I would not be where I am without them, so I continue to be happy for their successes, because it’s all our successes. We should be celebrating the fact that our community is growing and so are the opportunities.
- Kindness Wins
“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.” This one I borrowed from Henry James, and he knew what he was talking about. I have never once regretted being kind. If you act kind to others, especially in supporting other women, it simply makes everything more enjoyable. You will find greater success if you are kind to people, than if you are cruel, self-serving, and take advantage. Because others will want to support you in return. It’s win-win.
Want to know more about the ‘Girls Support Girls’ graphic tee? It comes in sizes Small-3X, so there’s one for everyone. It also comes in white, if you aren’t quite as obsessed with pink as I am. But what I really love is that it also comes in ‘Boys Support Girls’ for the guys!
$1 from every purchase of the Girls Support Girls tee will be donated to Girls For A Change, a national organization that inspires girls to have the voice, ability and problem solving capacity to speak up, be decision makers, create visionary change and realize their full potential.
