As far as jeans go, I have not had what you would call a diverse collection, at least not since 2005. Since skinny jeans became popular in the mid-2000s, I have never strayed away from my trusted fit, but I have always had my eye on the trends in denim. I have watched wide-leg, and boyfriend emerge, and even flared come back, and I have been completely unsure how I felt about each when trying them on. To be honest I have wanted a pair of boyfriend cut jeans for years, but everytime I take them into the fitting room, they seem to end up on the no rack.
With the emergence of the recent trend of embroidered denim, I set out to find a pair of jeans that featured the detail. While at Penningtons, I found a beautiful pair, however they were in boyfriend cut. Recollecting my disagreeable past with the silhouette, I was nervous to even try them on. So you can imagine my surprize when I fell in love with these jeans.
I have never had a pair of boyfriend or straight leg jeans fit me in the parts I want. Penningtons designed this cut as the ‘Slightly Curvy’ so the thighs and knees are fitted enough, but there is the room at the lower calves and ankles to achieve that boyfriend silhouette. The best part of all this is that now I know that there is a whole new range of jeans that I can try out, and especially knowing how the Slightly Curvy fits on me, will make jean shopping less painful, and dare I say… even enjoyable.
