If you want to look good in any outfit, follow some simple rules for taking care of them:

Natural fabrics

Washing
Natural fabrics can be washed by hand as well as by machine.
Be sure to wash whites and coloreds separately.
Wash at temperature no higher than 40°C for coloured fabrics.
Use a laundry detergent labeled “for colored clothing.
Linen fabrics must be washed with a detergent without bleach, and do not soak before washing.

Drying
Natural fabrics should be dried in a well-ventilated room or outdoors.
Do not tumble-dry.
Tumble-dry your clothes, if necessary, on a clothes rack.

Ironing
Ideally, garments made of natural fabrics should be ironed slightly damp.
For example, with a sprayer or with a damp cloth.
The ironing temperature for natural fabrics is 140°C to 180°C.
Embroideries and prints should only be ironed on the wrong side.

Artificial fabrics

Washing
Woven synthetic fabrics can be washed by hand or machine.
Wash at a temperature no higher than 30°C.
Choose a detergent according to the type of fabric.
Use delicate, mild detergents.
Spin the washing machine at low speed.
If washing by hand don’t use a hard spin.

Drying
Artificial fabrics should be dried naturally, in a horizontal position, without using clothespins.
A hanger is a good option for drying such things.
This is especially true for articles made of artificial silk, sometimes drying without a hanger can leave streaks on the fabric.
Remember: bright sunlight can cause the fabric to fade.

Ironing
Man-made fabrics should be ironed with special care or not at all, as such fabrics tend to hold their shape.
Ironing temperature for synthetic fabrics – 120 C, in the mode “Silk”. It is not necessary to use a steamer.
If necessary, ironing can be done on the wrong side of the product, using a light fabric.

Knitted garments

Washing
Hand washing is best for knitwear.
Wash at a temperature no higher than 30°C.
Wash delicately, without using bleach.
Use a liquid detergent for a gentler wash.

Drying
Knitwear should best be left to dry naturally.
The washed thing is slightly wrung out and placed on a horizontal surface (better on a terry towel). Under no circumstances should you hang knitwear vertically: they stretch and lose their shape.

Ironing
Iron knitwear is best done with steam, without touching the iron itself.
If necessary, ironing can be done on the wrong side, in the direction of the loops (of course, if you do not have a goal to change the size of the thing: to reduce its length or width).
